IS YOUR TEEN STRUGGLING AT SCHOOL? HOME? WITH FRIENDS?

Today’s teenagers are dealing with so many struggles that are prevalent today: Social media, school struggles as a result of ‘mean girls and boys’, relationship problems and so much more. Teen counseling (teen therapy) can likely help.

These factors impact absolutely every aspect of adolescent lives as well as the lives of those around them.

  • Losing interest in things that once interested them?
  • Failing in school?
  • Making bad decisions?
  • Struggling with Anxiety about back to school?

You may feel unsure of what to do, and likely you’ve tried many things to help. But you continue to bang your head against the proverbial wall.

You May Wonder Why Your Teen Won’t Just Talk With You

This is, without a doubt, one of the most asked questions we hear as teen therapists. There is no easy answer, but we promise to work towards the goal of open and honest communication between you and your child.

Our goal is always to follow your lead and the lead of your teen to determine your goals for therapy. We then work towards those goals to resolve social, communication, behavioral, and other issues that your teen is experiencing in the most effective manner possible, using our training and experience to help.

How Long Will My Teen Need Counseling Services?

Counseling is not a one-size fits all science. The length of counseling will be an ongoing decision between your teen, you as the parent, and your counselor. It is a process that begins at the first meeting in which we will work to establish a positive connection to lead to open and honest communication. In the first few sessions, we will develop a working relationship and begin to develop and work a plan to improve things.

It may take just a few counseling sessions to begin to see improvement in your teens emotions, behavior, school functioning, and more.

The total process could take 5 sessions or it could take more, depending upon the issues that arise and your teens readiness to work towards a solution.

Most of our clients average 10 sessions, leading to emotional and behavioral changes that can last a lifetime.
