Southlake, Texas Office Counselors

Cody Allen, Licensed Professional Counselor -Associate

Cody Allen, MS, LPC

Licensed Professional Counselor

Hello! My name is Cody, and I am happy to have the opportunity to work with you. I enjoy working with teens, adults, couples, and families. Depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger management, grief, life changes, crisis, developmental growth, and attachment and relational issues are just a few of my areas of focus. Whatever your challenge may be, I believe we all have the ability to adapt and overcome life’s challenges. I believe everyone deserves to receive compassionate and respectful care. Therefore, this is my number one goal as your counselor. This means your needs, goals, personal wellbeing, and privacy are my main concern.

My approach to therapy is eclectic, meaning I utilize a wide variety of therapeutic techniques and theories including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), self-awareness training, mindfulness training, guided relaxation, and systematic desensitization. I believe each person is a unique individual who has had unique experiences. Therefore, therapy should be unique and individualized as well. This means our sessions will be collaborative in nature and we’ll discuss treatment plans and make decisions together.

Lastly, I believe all therapy should be measurable. While working together, we will identify large goals and small goals designed to transition you from where you are, to where you want to be. We will use a host of self-report assessments, inventories, and evaluations to measure your progress towards these goals throughout our time together. This approach helps us to maximize our efforts and see growth and improvement much faster!

I have worked in the field of mental health since 2013. I obtained my Master of Counseling degree from East Texas Baptist University in 2016. I have experience in working in a variety of settings including, acute inpatient stabilization, emergency rooms, rehabilitation, partial hospitalization, and outpatient programs. Some of my accomplishments include certification as a nonviolent crisis prevention instructor, assisting with the development of negotiation and de-escalation training programs for law enforcement divisions within Gregg County (many of which are still used today), and developing admission and referral processes for psychiatric patients within the ER at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, TX.

My wife, Melody, and I, along with our dog, Honey, live in the Town of Argyle. My wife grew up in Argyle, while I grew up in a similar town just south of DFW. We love the small-town vibe and we look forward to starting our family in such a loving community. A few of my favorite things include sitting around a fire with friends, reading a book that is just way too good to put down, and spending too much time with my BBQ smoker. My wife does not mind that last part too much!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about me and my views of counseling. I truly appreciate the opportunity to work with you or your loved ones. I look forward to meeting you!

I am CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS for in-person and online-video counseling. I currently have availability throughout the week in Southlake.

Thalia Tonche, LPC-A, Counselor in Fort Worth, Texas

Kallie Dark, LPC-Associate, Supervised by Yu-Fen Lin, LPC-S

Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate

Hi there!

I’m Kallie, and I know one size certainly does not fit all when it comes to therapy. Your needs are as unique as your personal journey, which is why I aim to meet you where you are, as you are, with an open mind and accepting heart.

Therapy is for you! So, I want to truly hear you, make you feel valued, and empathetically empower you to embrace and express your most authentic self as we collaboratively nurture a full and meaningful life—whatever this means for you. I not only believe you possess the capacity for positive transformation (a belief I carry near and dear to my heart), but I also believe YOU ARE WORTHY of genuine loving-kindness, inner tranquility, and the opportunity to grow and go whichever direction fills your soul’s cup. As such, I cultivate a safe and validating space in which you can heal, change, unwind, vent, self-care, or whatever else you may need. No matter the case, you can count on a positive and supportive connection established on a foundation of empathy and genuine trust.

I primarily operate from an evidence-based, emotion-focused therapy (EFT) perspective, though my integrative style and passion for creativity allow me to ensure that your goals can be pursued in a manner that works specifically for you. While I am more than happy to approach the concerns of anyone ranging from teen years to late adulthood, some of my central areas of clinical focus include trauma, negative emotional experiences (such as anxiety, depression, grief, or shame), mindfulness and self-compassion, body image, and attention deficit.

I acquired my undergraduate degree in psychology from UT Austin (hook ‘em horns!), and my graduate degree in clinical mental health counseling from UNT Dallas. To truly know me is to know I am nothing if not biophilic, meaning I experience a profound sense of fulfillment through connecting with nature and other living things. I believe my time is best spent outdoors, with my pups, or with my loved ones, and that sunshine and music are two of the most pure and valuable forms of medication. As an optimist and empath by nature, I am often awed by the human ability to create, overcome, and flourish, and I love to assist others with discovering just how capable they truly are.

If I have resonated with you in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out. I wholeheartedly appreciate your time and consideration, and I hope to meet you soon!
